April 16th 2005 - Scheduled on a Friday, April 15th, Tax Day no less…. I automatically figured the weather would do this racing session in. Was I ever wrong! A large crowd, large car count, and wonderful mid 60 temperatures all evening long, made for a great season opener. At least the rain held off until Saturday here in Menomonie. The racing under the lights began on time, and the 32nd season of The Red Cedar Speedway was officially opened. The anticipation was worth the wait. I felt as if this was “my opening night”, I can only imagine how it is for the drivers and crews.
