July 14th 2009 - THE MILWAUKEE MILE NEEDS HELP
By Jim "Bronco" Gorecki, Editor

West Allis, WI - The Milwaukee Mile, my track, the place where I grew up with racing, is in trouble. The Saturday, August 29 Wisconsin All-Star 100 race, in which Kenseth was scheduled to race a super late model, HAS BEEN CANCELED!

America's oldest race track is in serious need of funding to stay open. Seems like two sellout weekends (IRL and NASCAR) this 2009 season, will not be enough to pay off the two racing sanctioning bodies.

It can't be the economy, everything else is being blamed for that. But when the track is packed for two racing weekends, and races are broadcast on TV...I blame poor management.

I hope that someone in Milwaukee will get their act together, and make one of the best racing venues in the country a money maker again. Because if we lose this racing jewel, we'll never get it back.
