West Central Wisconsin-

Tony Bahr, WISSOTA Late Model Driver had quite a weekend May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Winning Feature races three nights in a row! Friday at Red Cedar (Menomonie, WI), Saturday at Rice Lake Speedway, (Rice Lake, WI), and Sunday at Eagle Valley Raceway, (Jim Falls, WI).

DRIVER: Tony Bahr
HOMETOWN: Eau Claire, WI
CLASS: WISSOTA Late Model
CAR NUMBER: QQ OK TONY, THOSE ARE NOT NUMBERS, THEY ARE LETTERS, SO WHY THOSE LETTERS THEN? “My dad raced years ago, and he lived on County Road Double Q. His car was always Double Q, so I used the same numbers, er, same letters. QQ.” (For some reason, kids seem to like this number, um, sorry, letters too!)
CHILDREN: Jake, his son, and daughter, Kayla. Both of who drive the Pure Stock, (you guessed it), QQjr!
CREW: Brian Burgess, Dale White (Car Owner), and Jason Keller

SPONSORS: Toy’s Scrap and Salvage, WCCN 107.5 “The Rock”, White City Glass, Artic Cat of Eau Claire, Shooter’s Show Girls, Buzz Signs & Graphix, AmsOil, Wissota Marina, Coldwell Banker-Bob Seckora, ‘Ol Barn Truck and Auto Body, NOLECHEKMEATS.COM, Bergh Contractors, Pizza Hut of Chippewa Falls and Hudson, Butch and Jackie’s Bateman Tavern.

HOBBIES: Snowmobiling

FAVORITE FOOD: “Mexican!”

FAVORITE DRIVER: “Jerry Redetzske.”

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN RACING? “It is something I always wanted to try. I didn’t get into my first car until age 27. My first racing experience was in a modified. But I really have to give Jerry Redetzske credit for getting me into a Late Model. I learned so much from Jerry, mostly from watching him. To this day, he still is the best I have ever seen in driving all three grooves of a track.”

WHAT KIND (TYPE) OF TRACK SURFACE DO YOU LIKE TO RUN ON MOST? “A dry slick track is my favorite. It takes out half the drivers from the equation right away. It is no longer who has the most horsepower, but comes down to driving skill and setup.”

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN RACING: “Winning the Punky Manor.”

ANY LAST COMMENTS? “I am glad that my kids have had a chance to race at such a young age. As long as they make it fun, and are having fun with racing. I really enjoy being involved in their racing too.”
